MiceChat Round up, Disneyland, Walt Disney World Discussions

The classic Disneyland trip report returns and time lapse videos from around the park highlight the beginning of a great MiceChat Round up this week.  But we are just getting started.  Monorail beams at the Walt Disney World resort suffered minor damage due to cold weather in Florida.  Is this a maintenance related problem?  You might just want to ask the guy in the fort on Tom Sawyer’s Island.  We then skip over to Disneyland Paris for talk of no more fireworks,  we snag a look at new concept art for Shanghai and there is talk about Tom Hanks playing Walt Disney in an upcoming film.  Join the discussion!

Earl of Sandwich coming to Disneyland California!

With the coming changes to the Lego Store and the La Brea Bakery and Cafe, Disney has announced that the Earl of Sandwich is coming in early summer 2012!

Earl of Sandwich Restaurant Coming to Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort

The new restaurant, which continues to have historical ties to the inventor of the sandwich, the Sandwich family, will be located adjacent to AMC Theatres. Signature hot sandwiches will be available including The Original 1762, a sandwich of freshly roasted beef, sharp cheddar and creamy horseradish sauce all on freshly baked artisan bread. Soups, salads, wraps and desserts also are on the menu. Earl of Sandwich offers a vast array of hot and cold beverages including The Earl’s Grey Lemonade. Breakfast sandwiches and pastries will be available in the morning and a variety of catering options will be offered at this location.

This will be the only Earl of Sandwich in California and it is sure to be a favorite among our guests as it has been at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Paris.

Dsneyland Paris may get a new Ratatouille dark ride, Universal Singapore debuts a new parade and we catch a glimpse of the new Matterhorn Bobsleds all in this edition of the MiceChat Round-Up. But that’s not all: Marvel further at the Muppets performing Bohemian Rhapsody and see how the Crush Coaster was built at the Paris Disney Studios Park. Sarah has just uploaded her latest MiceChatter video. New Years at the Disneyland Resort, Tell us your favorites from 2011, and more

2011 turned out to be a pretty amazing year.  Nearly all of the major Southern California parks gained new rides, shows, or eateries. The Little Mermaid, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, The Green Lantern, Superman: Escape From Krypton, Roadrunner Express, Legoland’s Star Wars Miniland, San Diego Zoo’s expanded Panda Trek exhibit, SeaWorld’s Turtle Reef and Riptide Rescue, there was more than enough to see. MiceChat: In the Parks

It’s a summer of hits (and a few minor misses) at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.  The press event for the brand new Little Mermaid ride at Disney California Adventure was held on Thursday and we bring you the photos from under the sea.  We also have some exciting (and funny) video from the new Star Tours ride where Disney captures three of MiceChat’s finest and declares one of them a spy (sounds about right).  Over at the Disneyland hotel, new geysers have been unveiled and saws hack away at the old Neverland pool.  Universal also gets into the act this week as  a brand new version of the Tram Tour launches.  We have photo and video from the press event (which was scheduled on the same day as Disney’s event).  Six Flags is remaking their dower Gotham section into a brightly colored DC Universe. Huge improvement.  And Knott’s Berry Farm goes sky high.  This is a delightful update you won’t want to miss.
